Meet Darrin


Darrin Canniff

Darrin was born and raised in Chatham and is the youngest of six boys.  He has lived most of his life in this community.  He is married to Christine (Johns) who was also born and raised in Chatham.  They have been married for twenty-three years.  They have four beautiful children; Chelsea (22), Megan (20), both in University and Emily (16) who attends UCC and Tyler (14), who attends George P. Vanier.  Darrin and Christine have a busy family life; each of their children have participated in a variety of activities in Chatham over the years including hockey, soccer, dance, voice, piano, theatre, volleyball, ball hockey, football, skating, swimming and karate.  Darrin has coached various teams in travel and house league soccer, Ballhawks volleyball and Cougar football. As a family, they have enjoyed volunteering together at the various fund raising events Darrin and Christine have been involved in.  The kids are very excited about this new venture their father is embarking upon!


Darrin attended Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo where he completed his four year Bachelor of Business Administration degree, specializing in general accounting and taxation.   While employed by accounting firm KPMG, Darrin completed the requisite courses and attained his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation.  In 2004, Darrin achieved his U.S. CPA designation and completed a seminar at Harvard University on the ‘Art of Negotiation’.  In June 2014, Darrin completed the Chartered Director’s Program (C.Dir.) at McMaster University.  This program is designed for directors currently serving on corporate boards and for senior executives who want to master the structure and dynamics of corporate governance.  Prior to attending university, Darrin attended Winston Churchill Public School and John McGregor Secondary School in Chatham.


Darrin is currently Director and Chief Financial Officer at Transform SSO in Chatham.   Previously held positions include Controller at Greenfield Ethanol and over 20 years experience at Union Gas where he held various positions including Director, Strategic Development and Director, Planning and Forecasting.
